Certified teachers can add certification in English as a Second Language by completing the four courses listed below. Each course is offered at both the undergraduate and the graduate level.

Division of International and Second Language Studies
Master of Arts in Second Languages (MASL) is a graduate program intended to serve the needs of two groups of language educators, both ESL and FL.The MASL program provides advanced instructional training in how to work with all levels of language students, be they elementary ESL students or adult learners of Spanish, French, German or ESL. The MASL program does not lead to Arkansas state teacher licensure. The University of Arkansas at Little Rock also offers the four courses, which lead to Arkansas ESL Endorsement as decided by the Arkansas Department of Education.
