    English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is a special area of concentration within the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) Master's Program. The Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics cooperates with the Department of Education in offering the ESOL program. The concentration is designed to train both prospective and experienced teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL). It provides the students with a strong theoretical and practical foundation in applied linguistics, language acquisition, ESL/EFL methodology, testing, cross-cultural studies and curriculum development.
