The CELTA is a passport to working and seeing the world, providing the necessary tools and practical training for graduates to pursue EFL teaching positions within the USA and abroad. As demand for English Language Teaching continues to increase worldwide, more jobs are becoming available overseas than ever before.
One reason why employers prefer the CELTA over other TEFL certificates is that they know that all CELTA courses are carefully monitored. Every CELTA center undergoes a rigorous annual inspection by Cambridge University. In addition, one full day of every CELTA course is inspected by a Cambridge assessor.
Our CELTA Training Center in Denver have earned an enviable reputation for providing their program participants and graduates with a wide range of professional Job Guidance Services. These services are free, and our graduates can use them at any time during or after their course.
Although we are not a job placement agency, we believe that our job information and guidance services are significantly better than those offered by any other TEFL training center in the U.K., Canada or the USA. Over the past five years, our graduates have taught in more than 50 countries, from Argentina to Zimbabwe.
Every course includes seminars which give practical, informed advice on:
- how and where to find TEFL jobs
- how to write a TEFL resume
- typical jobs and conditions of work
- how to evaluate job offers and contracts
Each course includes informative workshops on a range of cross-cultural issues, such as how to deal with culture shock. In addition, participants have access to useful cultural briefing notes on over 100 countries. Our School has compiled very extensive TEFL job files, which are regularly updated. These files contain an enormous amount of valuable job search information and materials which include:
- articles on TEFL job markets overseas
- listings of over 3000 TEFL employers
- letters from our graduates teaching overseas
- examples of job offers and contracts
- current advertisements for TEFL jobs
The School has assisted literally hundreds of schools with their recruitment needs, and have built up an extensive network of overseas contacts. Many overseas employers now contact us directly when they are looking for teachers. We constantly monitor the TEFL job market, and we produce a newsletter which lists current TEFL job openings around the world. We will send a copy of this newsletter to our graduates (by mail, fax or e-mail) at any time after their course. We will also send them extra materials from our Job Files. There is no extra charge for these services.
