Preparation for the Cambridge First Certificate Examination (FCE) and the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is offered by English Language School - Ala Moana Campus. Entry level: Upper Intermediate, level test is required.
In the FCE and CAE Preparation courses, you will receive a thorough preparation in the five skill areas tested in the examination:
- Use of English (Grammar).
- Composition (Writing).
- Speaking.
- Reading and Vocabulary.
- Listening Comprehension.
The FCE and CAE Preparation is a full-time 8, 9, or 12 weeks program offered two or three times a year. This program leads to the Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) or the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). Official examinations are held on the final week of the program on dates set by Cambridge University.
Preparation for the Cambridge First Certificate Examination (FCE) and the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is the best choice for:
- Students willing to work or study abroad or to develop a career which requires language skills (business, tourism, secretarial and managerial positions).
- Students seeking for a diploma for admission to specific universities.
Cambridge Preparation part-time course is also offered at English Language School - Kalakaua Campus (Waikiki).
Students preparing for First Certificate in English (FCE) or Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) can take the part-time course as part of the Super-Intensive English Program. In this program, students study in the morning Intensive English Program 9 am - 1 pm, and take afternoon small study group classes (maximum 4 students) in FCE or CAE Tuesday-Friday, 2 pm - 4 pm.
Students can also choose to take the part-time option and take only Cambridge Test small study group classes Tuesday-Friday 2 pm - 4 pm.
Students should be at least intermediate level for entry into the FCE course, and upper-intermediate level for entry into the CAE course.
